Guangxi Arts Institute is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school was founded in 1938, and its predecessor was the art teacher training class of Guangxi provincial capital national basic school. The university is one of the six provincial art colleges in China. It is jointly established by the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China and the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
At present, the school covers technical secondary school, junior college, undergraduate and master's degree students. It has the right to grant bachelor's degree, master's degree and master of Arts. It has the qualification to recommend outstanding undergraduate graduates to study for master's degree without examination. It is also an in-service master's degree granting unit with the same degree. It is the only one in South China with the right to grant master's degree A comprehensive higher art institute.
The school now covers an area of more than 700 mu, with more than 14000 full-time students and more than 700 full-time teachers. It has 6 first-class discipline master's authorization points and 35 second-class discipline master's authorization points.
