Guangxi Arts Institute, abbreviated as "Guangyi," is located inGuangxi Zhuang Autonomous RegioncapitalNanning。The school was founded in 1938, its predecessor being the Guangxi Provincial Capital National Basic School Art Teacher Training Class. The school is one of the six provincial comprehensive art colleges in the country, namelyChina's six major art collegesone ofMinistry of Culture of the People's Republic of ChinaandPeople's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regionjointly-built university (provincial and ministerial jointly-built university).
The school's current levels of education encompass secondary specialized schools, junior colleges, undergraduate programs and master's degree programs, possessingBachelor's degree、Master's degreeand the right to confer Master of Arts degrees. It is qualified to recommend outstanding undergraduate graduates to pursue master's degrees without taking entrance examinations. It is also a unit that confers master's degrees for in-service personnel and those applying for master's degrees through equivalent academic qualifications. It is the only comprehensive higher art institution in South China with the authority to confer master's degrees.
The school currently covers an area of more than 700 mu (approximately 46.7 hectares), has over 14,000 full-time students, more than 700 full-time teachers, and has 6 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points and 35 second-level discipline master's degree authorization points.
